he Texas Rangers and Live Nation recently
announced that country music superstar Chris
Stapleton will headline the first concert at Globe
Life Field on March 14, 2020.
Stapleton’s All American Road Show, which will feature
special guests Willie Nelson & Family, Jamey Johnson
and Yola, will be the first event at the Rangers’ new
40,000-seat, air-conditioned ballpark in Arlington.
The Rangers made other announcements, including
the completion of the final retractable roof truss,
installation of the first seats, and a new logo to
commemorate the inaugural season.
“We are ecstatic to host Chris Stapleton, Willie Nelson
& Family, Jamey Johnson and Yola for the first event
at our beautiful new facility in Arlington, Globe Life
Field. We have had March 14, 2020, circled on the
calendar for months now and can’t wait for this special
Grand Opening,” said Sean Decker, Rangers’ senior vice
president of operations & events.

The Rangers also
unveiled a new logo to
celebrate the inaugural
season at Globe Life
Field. Stickers bearing
the design were
distributed to the
approximately 1,400
employees working to
build the $1.2 billion
ballpark, which is now approximately 82 percent
complete.
Workers also removed the Manitowoc 31,000, the
largest American-made conventional crawler crane
that was used to help install the 24-million-pound
retractable roof and other components of the ballpark.
