drive from the club leaders and project workers to kick start,’’ revealed Mr

“Diarmuid Gavin gave them an excellent presentation on modern garden
designs from around the world which really inspired them to think outside
the traditional garden design. They rose to that and created stunning designs
which were executed beautifully which left Diarmuid Gavin stunned at the
quality of the work and imagination.
“The young people themselves were incredible, working through heavy
rain and into the night to get their gardens ready. They helped each other
with each of the four gardens and created friendships with other clubs and
projects in the process.
“When their gardens were opened to the public they proudly showed off

“Foróige has often taken on gardening projects as part of its Youth
Citizenship Programme and have achieved many improvements in towns and
villages nationwide through our amazing members and volunteers. However,
this is the first time we gathered different projects together to create a garden
in one area.
“We would be very interested in projects like this again. The young people
really learned a lot from this and not just about gardening but about working
in a team and engaging with people.
“Each group worked on their own in their community
halls on their projects.”
