THE HEART Of The Home
The planning, inspiration and the friendliness of ‘the heart of the home’
W
hether building, buying or renovating your home, of
course you want the ‘whole package’ to look nice but the
room or place that every home owner wants to stand out
and make their own stamp on is the kitchen best known
or commonly referred to as ‘the heart of the home.’
Like anything, there is so much to think of and take into consideration
when selecting your kitchen and the layout of your kitchen you pick and in
some cases the eco-friendliness but the most important thing and one of
the first questions on the persons lips is ‘’how much will it cost?!’’ as well
as its durability.
Planning Your Kitchen’s Layout
When it comes to figuring out what layout to use for your kitchen, be warned
it is almost like learning how to speak a new language as the layout’s fall
under the letters ‘U’ ‘I’ ‘C’ ‘G’ and ‘L’
U-Shaped Kitchens
The U-Shaped Kitchen is best for busy cooks as this kitchen layout keeps
everything within easy reach, it is also called the C-shaped kitchen, as both
layouts include a peninsula.
The term peninsula refers to an extended counter area that is popular
in the G-shaped kitchen floor plan. A kitchen island is a great addition, but
most kitchens lack the room to sensibly fit one of a usable size in the centre
of the available workspace. This is why the peninsula is as popular as it is
practical.
The peninsula is a highly valuable addition to any kitchen because it gives
the opportunity for increased base cabinet storage space and countertop
space. The additional space can be used as an enhancement to the kitchen’s
“People want kitchens with glass cabinets, islands that
weren’t popular 20 years ago.”
