Continuing Our
Tradition...Giving Back
It has been a tradition for our Hologic
employees in Costa Rica to visit and
spend time with kids in a local
orphanage every holiday season.
Last December, we visited “Hogar
de Vida.” It is not an orphanage,
but a transitional home for children
who are at risk socially and who are
from difficult situations. Their mission
is to love, protect and provide a
substitute family for children from
newborns, up to 10 years old. Right
now there are 32 children ranging from
6 months to 10 years under their care.
Our Social Responsibility Committee
gathered gifts, new clothes and
toys from our employees and
distributed them to the children in
Hogar de Vida. We also brought
“Santa Claus” to help pass out the
gifts! It was an afternoon full of fun,
not just for the children, but for the
employees as well.
The little time we spent with the
children, the staff and volunteers
of Hogar de Vida has been a
heartwarming experience and
we are deeply touched, humbled
and grateful for compassionate
and caring people who have
created a real home and family
for these deserving children.
