It ’ s easy to see why couples fall in love with Coron , a stunning destination in the western island province of Palawan . This pristine paradise is one of the region ’ s most-loved escapes , comprising the eastern half of Busuanga Island , Coron Island , and 50 other islets . Home to sun-swept beaches , exceptional World War II wreck dives , awesome rock formations , and unbelievably clear waters , Coron is also considered the more laidback sibling of Palawan ’ s famed El Nido ( see below ). Boasting around 50 white-sand beaches and the country ’ s largest marine reserve ( 903 square kilometres teeming with aquatic creatures ), El Nido is epic . Getting there : Fly from Manila to Palawan ’ s capital of Puerto Princesa and take a four-hour bus trip or a private car ride to the northern town of Taytay . From here , catch an outrigger boat to your preferred El Nido resort .
