From milling to painting: over one thousand years ago, the property upon which the“ Neuhauser Kunstmühle” now stands at Mühlstrasse 5a was once the site of a mill. The walls of the building are ancient, whereas the art to be found within them is young and contemporary. The summer exhibit 2013 is devoted to Mathieu Weemaels and his pastels. Exhibited as of 28.9. will be an oil paintings of Roland Helmus and, as of 23.11., all graphic prints that have been created in the current year. A beloved, traditional Christmas market will also take place on 14. and 15.12.
The gallery’ s program, conceived by the Topic- Matutin couple, is multi-layered: On the one hand, famous Austrian artists who have ties to the Kunstmühle, including the likes of Ilse Sprohar, Klaus Klingler, Walter Strobl and Günther Nussbaumer. In 2011, the gallery was represented at the Karlsruhe art fair with its presentation of Chinese-American artist, Paul Ching-Bor, to whom a large exhibit is also dedicated this year at the museum Künstlerhaus Marktoberdorf. In 2013, the couple showed five artists for the first time from the gallery program in a large exhibition entitled „ 5 for Berlin“ at the Uferhallen in Berlin- Wedding. This included Paul Ching-Bor, Bruno Griesel, Roland Helmus, Ben Leenen, and Salzburg artist Halgund Sedlak-Otto. This project will be continued in Berlin 2014 as part of the gallery tour. Since its beginning, the Neuhauser Kunstmühle has also been a printing workshop for high-quality graphic prints, mainly lithography and etchings, as well as a publisher of art books. In addition, sculptures are presented in small circulations of 10 to 15 pieces. The edition of glass sculptures was continued in 2013 and, in collaboration with Ute Wilfing, the first exciting attempts in glass casting were made. „ so. what“, the jazz club in the
