This year the Sports Academy has offered daily lunchtime training sessions in the lockwood gym . The students have been working on their strength and conditioning . They have improved their body training techniques for their sports . A priority has been increasing their range of motion for injury prevention .
One of Cole ’ s favourite quotes is “ There is no elevator to success , you have to take the stairs ”.
Congratulations , Cole .

“ Our character is simply the attitudes and habits we possess daily ”
In term one Shea McAleese ( our local hockey Olympian ) came to talk to the students and in term three we ran a kickboxing workshop thanks to our German international student Michael Henrich . Throughout the year the Year 9 and 10 ’ s have been the Jarrod Cunningham Supreme Award goes to Cole Fletcher . Cole is a special student because he loves to train . Cole trains most days of the week and for two hours at a time . The Sports Academy students would agree that Cole is THE most worthy student for this award because of his amazing work ethic . He really enjoys the Sports Academy lunchtime training sessions because he says he is improving at something and not just playing games . He enjoys learning about the philosophy of the special forces , in particular the Navy SEALS . Cole says that the Navy SEALS believe that there are no negatives in training , exercising is NOT a job or a chore . Training in itself is the Reward . If you are getting healthy through training and eating well then you are always improving .
