The Oscars 2020 was a massive success according to media teachers and students alike , regardless of the situation created by the storm that was COVID-19 . He stated that it was “ open only to the school ”, meaning only HNHS students could attend the function as we all resided in the same bubble . This made the 2020 occasion one of the smaller Oscars events , though with about 90 people attending . So how did the night kick off ?
After extensive preparations , we began the night ’ s festivities with the arrival of all our esteemed actors , actresses and directors . Everyone arrived looking dapper and many shined through on the red carpet . became the winners of the best dressed award .

“ I wished it was longer , so much energy it was a crazy vibe man …” - a different Anon .
While this year it was positive that we managed an event , next year teachers hope that we will welcome makers . We plan on having the biggest Oscars event in history to compensate for this year ’ s smaller event - held in the newly renovated Havelock North High School auditorium , perhaps . Students from the interviews commented on media studies and said ,
“ There has never been a better time to do media with all that is going on in the world .” - Anon number three .
“ This inspired me to work harder and win next year , not going to lie !” - Anon number four from Year 11 .
This is a good sign as it breeds creativity and hard work . Everyone has found it useful as you learn critical thinking skills and ways to spot issues in the media . And it is all a leap of faith , who knows , maybe you could be the next Oscars winner ? All winners from the night have surely gone home to a hero ’ s and heroine ’ s welcome , and the fashionistas made their HNHS has worked well around the national problem tremendously and we commend all the people who put in the hard work behind the scenes to make it happen . We cannot wait to see what takes place next year !
