The Academic Committee is centered around creating a supportive and uplifting learning environment and recognising those students who have commendable academic achievements . We started off the year by recognising the outstanding efforts of students NCEA achievements the previous year . We had a large number of students recognised for their hard work towards gaining excellence endorsement in Level One and Level Two . In addition to this , we also recognised these students ’ subject endorsements . Another amazing achievement by our students at Havelock North High School is the two Year 12 students who passed scholarship subjects in the previous academic year . These students were also recognised for this impressive achievement .
In the latter part of the year , we organised and facilitated the peer-tutoring programme at our school which ran through term three . It provided the senior students of our school with one-on-one tutoring which we extended to include pairs of students this year in order to better accommodate students ’ learning preferences . We also opened up the student tutors ������������������������������������������������������� demand for tutoring . We had a very successful term of academic mentoring this year , especially when considering the chaotic effect COVID-19 had . excellences in internals throughout the year . This year we have had a successful academic committee and peer-tutoring programme , all thanks to the other members of the committee who all tutored , alongside other commitments like helping to organise the programme . Special thanks to Mr Bird who made it all possible and provided some delicious bickies to sate the committee ’ s hunger during our meetings .
To conclude , The 2020 Academic Committee team wishes everybody good luck for their exams .
