design of a wellbeing mobile app . Set as a group challenge this competition was judged by former student and app developer , Liam Reeves . The Supreme Award went to Benedict Snee , Daniel Cunningham and Tom Vautier for their innovative , engaging and interactive App , ‘ The Big Button ’. Well done to them and a huge thank you to Liam for his time and expertise .

The overall theme for Year 12 is ‘ making SMART choices ’. We aren ’ t born with SMARTS . We develop SMARTS . Being SMART is not about being intelligent . SMART people have a range of strategies to help them tackle challenges and move ahead in study , work and life .
Year 12 Encompass classes moved between subject experts ���� ����� ���������� �� ���� ����� ��������� ����� ��������� ���� soft and hard skills that universities and businesses recognise as important in this rapidly changing 21st century society .
Students were encouraged to consider their interpersonal communication skills and discussed the importance of developing strategies for managing stress and the power of self-talk . They investigated options for their future other than the standard pathway from school to university and engaged with ideas about civics and citizenship . Takeaways also included a multi purpose CV with referees and cover letter and a clearer understanding of their money personality and how that drives �������������������������

The Year 13 Encompass programme is designed to assist students to develop skills that will help them in their journey when they leave school . This year , students started by familiarising themselves with their pepeha - an essential part of their identity as young people from Aotearoa . Students then developed their understanding of teamwork and leadership before putting their skills to the test working with our new Year 9 students . Despite ������ �������� ��� ������� ���� ������� ���� ��� ���������� �� ����� Year 9 and 13 fashion show concluded the peer support part of the programme in early term four . Throughout the year , most students participated in one of the ten school committees and several Encompass sessions were used by the committees to put into action the skills they had learned around organisation and leadership . Students were also guided through units addressing ��������� ���������� ����������� ������ �������� ���������� ����� ������� and some teachers even shared their top tips for life !
We were fortunate to be able to host the Mates and Dates team ������������������������������������������������������������������ the concept of consent . Throughout the programme , students worked collaboratively to develop a campaign that was used to promote healthy relationships and awareness about the importance of consent within the school community .
