Having lost 2 / 3 ’ s of last year ’ s team , the boy ’ s hockey 1st XI was prepared for a rough season . However , having a team that had a great attitude and a willingness to work hard , meant that there was a huge improvement throughout the season . The improvements within the team were clearly shown at tournament as we won three of the four pool games , making it to the semi-finals . We narrowly missed a podium finish , coming 4th overall .
The passion and effort put in by the whole team was something that they should all be proud of . Some highlights of the season included Zak moving from defender to striker , resulting in him scoring crucial goals throughout the tournament . Another was Lorcan ’ s firstever goal , in a penalty corner set move which proved to be a match-winner . One concern was Louie ’ s inability to count to 11 , which would often find us with 12 on the field , much to the coach ’ s amusement . I ’ d like to thank our coaches Geoff and Andy , and Manager Sue for all the time they have given to the team and for making it possible to go away to tournament .
