Hygge at Waddesdon Manor
Running until 19th March weekends only 11am-4pm
Last month we gave away a family ticket to the grounds of Waddesdon Manor . Free with a grounds ticket until 19th March , you can enjoy the Hygge Winter Weekends event , which celebrates the Danish way of life . The focus is on all things cosy and comfortable , spending time with loved ones and feeling at one with nature .
We wanted to see what it was all about so we set off on a crisp and chilly but blindingly sunny Saturday . Waddesdon Manor is located a little way beyond the main centre of Aylesbury and there is ample free parking surrounded by luscious greenery . The turnout was very good with lots of families pulling on their wellies and clipping leads onto excited dogs . You can take the allocated footpath or driveway and walk up to the manor , or you can hop on the free shuttle bus . We opted to walk via the footpath ( don ’ t forget your wellies !) and the manor gradually came into sight , looking magnificent .
Our first stop was the gift shop where there is an array of unique finds for your home as well as plenty of lovely gift ideas . We made a mental note to come back in good time for next Christmas . Next , we were keen to explore the main hub of the Hygge event so followed the clearly marked signs to the Stables Coach House . The place was buzzing with people and
