Images: Hiya Bucks There is a small section by Downley Common where you have to walk on a lane so be careful if you have little ones. It’s only for a couple of minutes though. We passed several camps in the woods, and we reckon great fun must have been had building them. There are a couple of pubs in Downley which would be good for a halfway stop off point. We were hoping to review them for you but we’ve literally run out of time (and space in the magazine). However the walk only takes 1 ½ hours so a stopover isn’t necessary. For National Trust members a cup of tea in the café would be a good idea as it’s only a 5 minute walk back to the car. www.chilternsaonb.org/uploads/files/Walks_ and_Rides/Hughenden_Manor_and_Downley.pdf www.nationaltrust.org.uk/ Helen Gerrish Editor-in-Chief email: [email protected] | www.hiyabucks.com 33
