Restaurant Review
Dukes Wine Bar
Great Wine.
Great Food.
Great Atmosphere.
When we were out and about discovering somewhere
for the “Our Beautiful Bucks …” feature we noticed this
little wine bar at the end of the village. We popped in to
arrange a review date and found Louise, the owner, in the
back garden painting the fence, making the garden look perfect for the Easter
weekend.
We booked our table for a Sunday so we could enjoy relaxing over a glass of
wine or two. To say the wine list is extensive would be an understatement, but it is
a wine bar after all.
Chatting with our friends we decided on sampling one of the sharing boards,
a meat and cheese platter, which was incredible. Beautifully presented, the
flavours didn’t disappoint, and it was so plentiful. Rather greedily we had also
ordered the nachos (the
crispiest tortilla chips we had
ever eaten), the bucket of
prawns and a 12” inch pizza,
all to share. Well, when you
are doing a review you have
to try as much as possible,
don’t you?
The pizza was simply
delicious, we tried the sweet
& tangy one with goat’s
cheese and sweet peppers.
At only £11 for a 12” pizza
of such good quality we
thought the price was
excellent.
