Leap for Africa was an event held on February
29th (Leap Day) where brave individuals
jumped the ‘Leap of Faith’ from Longridge
Activity Centre’s 13 metre high platform to a
trapeze a few feet away. The event was held
in aid of Partners for Change Ethiopia (PFCE),
the New Brainstorm School (NBS) in Uganda
and Longridge Activity Centre. The Leap was
organised by Cookham’s Social Action Committee and pupils
from Cookham Rise and Holy Trinity schools. On the day 75
people took on the Leap for Africa, as well as Beth Morris,
the contestant from 2016’s series of The Voice, who braved
the jump ahead of the event. (Beth Morris #teampaloma has
made it through the knockout rounds and is through to the
live-finals on #theVoiceUK).
