Synonyms for vision: perception, view, sight, perceiving, eyes
What do you see for yourself in the future? What is your vision? It can mean different things for
different people, whether it’s to lose weight, get a different job, buy a house, etc. But without seeing
a clear vision of what we want, can we obtain it?
Thanks to Facebook Memories, I was reminded of my personal vision 3 years ago in 2013. I had
some big goals in mind for that year and I sat down and thought about them and decided to make a
vision board. Everyone’s goals will be different, but mine that year included changing my body for
the stage by adding more muscle, working on abs and glutes, drinking more water, getting certified
to be a personal trainer, and competing in 2 shows.
I started with a blank piece of poster board and went through some of my favorite magazines to cut
out any words or pictures that inspired me. Of course one of those pictures happened to be Diana
Chaloux-LaCerte because she has always been a big inspiration to me! I hung my vision board on
the wall above my vanity so that I looked at it EVERY day. It was a constant reminder of what goals
I had set for myself.
That year I did compete in those 2 shows, and I put in enough work to earn a first and second place
finish in my competitions! I also became a certified personal trainer through NASM, which I
finished and got certified in 2014 and became a trainer/transformation coach at Hitch Fit! Best
decision ever!
Working at Hitch Fit is so much more than being a personal trainer. We are all about
TRANSFORMATION and help our clients through this process. One of the biggest pieces of
transformation is mental. I always sit down with clients and ask what their goals are.
Transformation isn’t always about changing your body, but your mind as well and your lifestyle.
Maybe you are unhappy with a current job or relationship. Or maybe you just want to get in really
great shape before an upcoming event. Whatever your “why” is, it is important to set goals for
yourself and have a vision of you meeting them.
So…first things first, set goals for yourself! Start with something small, like maybe a weekly or biweekly goal. Smaller goals that are obtainable can help keep you going and stay focused on the big
ones. Maybe you want to lose 30 lbs but that number just seems so big and far away. So set a goal to
lose 2 lbs a week, that doesn’t seem quite as scary, does it? Hitting small goals always leads to
hitting those bigger ones. That is something that we help you with being a transformation coach at

Maybe making your very own vision board is just what you need to keep you focused on whatever
goal or dream you have, and you can have some fun making it in the process! Good luck and never
