On September 14, 2009, the Board finally permitted some of its members to transfer to
the newly formed San Juan-Pinaglabanan Chapter in which San Juan-Mandaluyong
Chapter together with the Greenhills Chapter sponsored its chartering on September
16, 2009.
At present, with its 17th Chapter President Arch. Richard R. Pamplena with theme
“Services Justified for the Membership”, the chapter’s focus is on providing services that
is appropriate for the members. Under his administration, on November 19, 2010, the
chapter purchased a LCD Projector, an investment that will give effective ways of
conveying technical information through visual presentation. The chapter continued on
providing civic services such as donating air-conditioning equipment to the Brgy.
Barranca Ibaba Day Care Center. In response to the request of Mandaluyong City
Mayor Hon. Benjamin C. Abalos, Jr. of providing a design for Mandaluyong City
Markers, the chapter launched the City Markers Design Competition last December 6,
2010 during the celebration of the 39th National Architecture Week.
After several years of milestone of hard work the chapter is now, indeed, considered a
Chapter Par Excellence and is now aiming for the Hall of Fame Award.
With more than 120 active and in good standing members, among 300 documented,
the chapter had maintained high spirits in everyone, thus, inspiring members to strive
their best and playing a big role in the improvement and growth with fellow colleagues in
society and the profession as Filipino Architects.
