History of UAP San Juan Mandaluyong Chapter

COMPREHENSIVE HISTORY OF THE UAP SAN JUAN – MANDALUYONG CHAPTER Early in 1983, the UAP incoming President Arch. Manuel T. Manosa, Jr. initiated the efforts to organize the San Juan resident architects into a chapter. National Secretary Arch. Ricardo Poblete supported the idea and worked to create the chapter in San Juan. Arch. Manuel T. Mañosa, Jr., fuap Past National President Soon after several meetings at 456 Restaurant and Club Filipino in Greenhills, San Juan, the group held their first election of officers in December 18, 1983 for the calendar year 1984. Arch. Victoriano Aviguetero Jr. became the first Chapter President with his elected officers: Vice President Arch. Diosdado Dimaano, Jr.; Secretary, Arch. Jecelyn Garcia; Treasurer, Arch. Erlinda Jose-Goss and Directors Architects Johnny Ortega, Basilio Orenciana and Luis Zialcita. Arch. Luis Zialcita, Vice President; Arch. Celina Borja, Secretary and Arch. Erlinda Jose-Goss, Treasurer. In order to meet and complete the required numbers of membership, the San Juan Chapter decided to expand to Mandaluyong. Later part of 1986 Arch. Francisco P. Mapalo, Jr., then Building Official of Mandaluyong, helped to form a chapter for the benefit of architects and merged it with the existing San Juan Chapter that become the San Juan-Mandaluyong Chapter with the participation of Architects from San Juan and Mandaluyong.
