The building itself is in fair shape and the gym is adequate. Several of the lower grades must
share teachers and rooms. The library contains about a thousand books. The building was
erected in 1951. (Tomorrow – Vimville and Center Hill)

In many ways, the problems at Vimville School are typical of all the county white
schools. Vimville ranks third in size among the county schools, with 354 students and it
teachers, but it like some other, has been crowded by the consolidation program. Students from
Whynot were consolidated into Vimville this year. The school board had planned to consolidate
the entire school; but due to a lack of space the elementary grades were left at Whynot. Despite
the maintenance of the Whynot School, Vimville has had to utilize a former home for teachers
for classroom space. The building was erected in 1938, is in fair condition. Outdoor toilets are
in use.
