The Black Death

The Black Death is a disease that spread through Europe from 1347 till 1350. It was highly contagious and there was no cure found. The disease started from Asia and then spread to Europe by black rats on merchant ships. It was estimated that over 800 people died a day in France. By the time the disease was spread out, it had killed over one-third of Europe's population. There were a lot of people who were dead to the extent that they didn't have space to bury them, therefore, they had to throw them in large pits. The people tried to stop the disease to the extent that they burned down villages. It took Europe 150 years to rebuild.
