My husband has a herniated disk. He was injured on the job and has been going
to the doctor for over a year with no relief from treatment. He’s also gone to a chiropractor and the little relief he gets is temporary. On the last visit, his doctor referred
him to a surgeon. When we pressed the surgeon about his chance for recovery, all we
got was a lot of medical jargon that was over our heads. I know they can’t guarantee
the results, but we would have a lot more confidence if we had a better idea what to
expect. We’ve decided to be cautious because one of our friends had back surgery
three times. He’s still in pain and can hardly move. My husband is 66 and has health
issues. He doesn’t want to go through that at his age. I went to the internet but the
information was confusing. Can you help us understand what my husband’s options are
and the risk of going through with the surgery?
