realize that people respect what they say and want to know more about them. They want to know more of what the leader knows, and they want to act like that leader. Deborah had no problem directing and delegating actions without fear. This was quite a feat in a day and age when women were not respected for their leadership abilities. It was certainly a male-dominated society, but she carved out her place among the crowd and then stood out. Women today are doing the same thing and with fewer barriers, but with some of the same prejudices by men. We can take note from Deborah. She did not back down from a battle, and most importantly, she was confident because she followed the leading of God. It’s not hard to wage war on any threat when you’ve been assured by the Almighty that you’re going to win. We can look at Deborah’s dominion over timidity and doubt, and her unbreakable bond with God and realize we can be as dynamic and victorious as she. When we listen to the leading of the Spirit and don’t question what we already know is right, and when we stay driven toward the outcome—whether the journey there is easy or tough—without pause, then blessings can abound. Deborah did it without losing her following or her faith. And upon her victory, she and Barak praised God, the ultimate leader of our lives.  www.pneupathforliving.com  29
