PERSONAL EMPOWERMENT Love is a Watermelon by DiAnne Malone O ne thing I remember about each of my pregnancies was my con- stant craving for watermelon. It seemed a craving I couldn’t seem to satisfy. There never seemed to be enough watermelon in the world for me and my babies. The texture, the taste, the way it quenched my thirst was unbelievably pleasant, euphoric even. I think the water- melon craving contributed to the shape of 30  HimPower September 2017 my belly in each pregnancy, because instead of a baby it looked like I was carrying a prize winning farmer’s market watermelon in front of me. Ironically though, I don’t eat watermelon at any other time–except when I was a young girl.
