picking up our armor.
“In all circumstances take up the shield of faith,
with which you can extinguish all the flaming
darts of the evil one;”
Ephesians 6:16
In each and every situation, I must pick
up this shield. Even when all I can do is cry
out to God, “I believe; help my unbelief!”
(See Mark 9:24).
Even so, this is not the final chapter, or
the last word. I have hope for the day when
this battle will draw to an end. When I will
finally behold my Redeemer.
Like Job, I can say:
“For I know that my Redeemer lives,
and at the last he will stand upon the
earth.
And after my skin has been thus destroyed,
yet in my flesh I shall see God,
whom I shall see for myself,
and my eyes shall behold, and not another.
My heart faints within me!”
Job 19:25-27
Then I will finally see clearly and my
doubts will be washed away.
“For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face
to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know
fully, even as I have been fully known.”
1 Corinthians 13:12
