ost people are inspired to do
something to help others, to
make a difference, to perform
a good deed--when motivated
by a person or an event—this usually hap-
pens after catastrophic occurs. For some, the
notion lasts momentarily, little more than
a fleeting thought. For others, the desire is
sincere but for whatever reason never mate-
rializes into action. Another group is quick
to act, they make a donation to try and help
minimize the damage. Yet, for a few the
yearning becomes a “calling” to help right
the wrong and try to prevent it from re-oc-
curring.
Dr. Adesuwa (Aday) Adetosoye is one of
the few. In 2000, she was on track to become
a successful lawyer when she read a story in
Time Magazine that would change her life.
The heart wrenching story resonated with
millions including myself about the plight of
orphans of HIV/AIDS.
Countless stories have been written
about this epidemic and the toll it has taken
on families, especially children. We wanted
to know what led Dr. Adetosoye to devote
