A Call to Mercy

By PATRICIA KING
A call to justice usually begins with compassion and mercy for the hurting , exploited , and abused . In 2008 I took my first trip to Bangkok , Thailand where I was introduced to sex trafficking . I saw young girls and children being exploited and it broke my heart . As a result of that burden we started Operation Extreme Love Schools , where believers from all over the world gathered with us in Thailand to share the love of Jesus with the exploited . The burden grew and we met with the United Nations , Thai and Cambodian government officials , and social workers to put a plan into motion for the accelerated rescue of trafficked children .
We expanded our outreach to Cambodia and now we currently rescue , place , and educate children at risk . We host “ lighthouses ” in the slums of Phnom Penh , which have been effective in our awareness training and on-going care for children in these challenging areas . Our team has also rescued girls from working in brothels by starting businesses to support them and their families . At the same time we offer them discipleship .
By working alongside other non-profits , churches , and NGO ’ s , we are able to bring awareness , rescue , healing , education , and discipleship to those at risk .
