A Call to Mercy
By PATRICIA KING
A call to justice usually begins with compassion and mercy for the hurting, exploited, and abused. In 2008 I took my first trip to Bangkok, Thailand where I was introduced to sex trafficking. I saw young girls and children being exploited and it broke my heart. As a result of that burden we started Operation Extreme Love Schools, where believers from all over the world gathered with us in Thailand to share the love of Jesus with the exploited. The burden grew and we met with the United Nations, Thai and Cambodian government officials, and social workers to put a plan into motion for the accelerated rescue of trafficked children.
We expanded our outreach to Cambodia and now we currently rescue, place, and educate children at risk. We host“ lighthouses” in the slums of Phnom Penh, which have been effective in our awareness training and on-going care for children in these challenging areas. Our team has also rescued girls from working in brothels by starting businesses to support them and their families. At the same time we offer them discipleship.
By working alongside other non-profits, churches, and NGO’ s, we are able to bring awareness, rescue, healing, education, and discipleship to those at risk.
