Silica, present in concrete dust, is a hazardous
material and is the focus of the new OSHA regulation
1926.1153. This regulation has a compliance date for
construction effective on September 23, 2017. The
new OSHA respirable crystalline silica dust regulation
offers several options for compliance and at Hilti, we
want to help you understand those options.

The TE 70 rotates at 360 rpm for maximum drilling
performance and features an optimized mechanical
clutch for maximum torque transfer. The center
of gravity is close to the grip for balance that is
the best in its class. Hilti Active Torque Control
stops the motor almost instantly if the bit binds,
and causes the housing to rotate too quickly
reducing the potential of sudden rotation of the
combihammer. The glass-fiber reinforced housing
makes this the toughest combihammer out there.

SafeSet™ Technology is
the term used to indicate an
adhesive anchor is approved for
installation using Hilti’s innovative
non-cleaning or self-cleaning
systems that includes the use of
HIT-Z anchor rods. Dust can be
left in the anchor hole without
impacting holding values. Self-
cleaning installation is as simple
as it sounds: The installer uses
a Hilti hollow drill bit to drill the
anchor hole with a VC 150 or VC
300 vacuum cleaner. The dust
is sucked out of the hole during
the drilling process, thereby
eliminating the need for further
cleaning.
