Shoot your shot for The Hills 2027 Waste & Recycling Calendar

Local photographers are being called on to capture the beauty of their community, with entries now open for The Hills Shire Council’ s 2027 Waste and Recycling Calendar competition.
Under this year’ s theme,“ Hills Through Your Lens,” residents are invited to showcase the landscapes, places, perspectives and everyday scenes that reflect the unique character of The Hills. From tranquil bushland and local parks to playgrounds, sporting fields and urban streetscapes, the competition is open to photographers of all skill levels.
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Michelle Byrne, said the annual competition highlights both the natural beauty of the region and the creativity of its residents.
“ We are calling for entries for our annual Waste and Recycling Calendar that showcase the heart and soul of our Shire,” Mayor Byrne said.
“ A total of 13 photos will be featured in the calendar, with one image representing each month and a standout photo displayed on the front cover.
“ My tip is simple: head to your favourite local place, take a photo, and submit it on our website. The judges are looking for images that truly capture the distinctive character of our region.”
Winning photographers will not only see their work published in a calendar distributed across the Shire but will also receive prizes. The front cover winner will take home a $ 100 Coles / Myer gift card, while each of the 12 monthly winners will receive a $ 50 gift card.
Entries are open exclusively to residents of The Hills Shire only. Photographs must be taken within the local government area and within the
