The Hills Shire’ s biggest annual celebration is returning in 2026, with Council confirming a bumper Australia Day program that promises a full day of family-friendly entertainment, music, cultural activities and community spirit. From morning fun at the Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre to the ever-popular twilight celebrations at Bella Vista Farm, the day is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated events in the region’ s calendar.
This year’ s program builds on the strong momentum of recent celebrations, which have seen record crowds turning out to acknowledge the nation’ s diversity, history and unique Australian spirit. Council has
again curated a program that appeals to all ages, showcasing national entertainment alongside local talent and much-loved community groups. Fun kicks off at Waves The Australia Day action begins at Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre from 10am – 3pm with its signature pool party. Families will be able to enjoy a live DJ spinning favourite summer tunes, along with a free sausage sizzle, roving performers and plenty of waterthemed fun.
The Hills Shire is known for hot January temperatures, and Waves has become a popular starting point for families looking to cool down while enjoying a festive, relaxed atmosphere.
Blockbuster entertainment returns to Bella Vista Farm
As the afternoon rolls on, crowds will make their way to Bella Vista Farm for Council’ s flagship event, Fun at the Farm. Beginning at 4:30pm, the historic rural estate will come alive with a largescale outdoor celebration featuring live music, kids’ entertainment, food trucks and roving performers.
Headline entertainment includes 2025 Australian Idol Winner Marshall Hamburger, a huge drawcard whose rise to national fame is expected to attract dedicated fans from all around Sydney. Iconic Sesame Street characters will keep younger audiences entertained, while returning favourites La Fiesta
