met her new husband and had moved to the Hills in 2014 to be with him . By 2018 the couple welcomed a new baby into their family , but sadly what should have been a time for celebration changed to one of grief when two weeks later , her sister passed away .
It was a painful time for her and marked a turning point in her interest in trauma , grief , and resilience .
“ It really bothered me that my sister was financially sound and could afford different therapies , but she couldn ’ t find anything that worked for her ,” Naomi explained .
Her grief and sadness that her sister had never found a treatment that helped her got Naomi looking for answers to this problem and she came across a trauma therapy program online . It was a transformative moment , and she decided to study root cause therapy , EFT ( Emotional Freedom Technique ), and trauma processing .
She travelled to Brisbane to train under Judith Richards , whose own survival story had fuelled a career in treating trauma .
As part of her training , she had to hold supervised therapy sessions with people , and she rented a room in a clinic to hold the sessions in a professional setting . Again , what started out as a simple project turned into something more for Naomi .
“ I rented a room on a day rate , put a post up on Facebook looking for people who wanted to try therapy and got a lot of

response to it . By the time I was finished I was running a clinic and I thought I should keep going so I could continue to help my clients .”
She continues to work with clients today on a part time basis at her therapy business , My Local Hypnosis ( www . mylocalhypnosis . com . au ) where she provides online and face to face therapy sessions . She is also running two virtual assistant businesses , one of which is brand new and uses the benefits of AI to answer phone calls . This woman knows how to keep herself busy !
Last year Naomi took part in a vision board event with some other women in business and she wasn ’ t sure what to put on her board . She had businesses , was settled with her husband and couldn ’ t think of what she would like to achieve . After a few minutes of thinking about what else she would like in her life she decided her next step was to become a speaker , so she put down ‘ get paid to speak ’, unsure about what that would mean at the time , but trusting in the process . Not long after she was approached by her friend Michelle Walker to go on her show on local radio station , Alive 90.5 and was asked if she would like to co-host .
“ I had to complete training to work on the radio which took a few months . I then got an email saying I completed my training , and I could submit my show application to have my own show . I

thought it would be fun and get out of my comfort zone , and it would help to bring knowledge to the public , I speak to people about about different therapies and ways to support your mental health .”
The Lights On radio show is on at 12 o ’ clock midday on Fridays , where you will hear Naomi speaking to guests and

playing music . She is looking forward to developing her show in the coming year and reaching more people with it .
What else is in the future for this resilient woman ? I doubt even she knows , but you can be sure that whatever it is , Naomi will approach it with passion and make it success .
