Dilys Kindleysides from Northmead was named 2024 Volunteer Director of the Year at the 2024 NSW Community Sports Awards , presented by Sport NSW , last night .
The Awards night , conducted at CommBank Stadium , recognised outstanding achievements and contributions to community sport in NSW over the past year which is largely conducted by a volunteer workforce .
Dilys was one of 12 category recipients to receive their Award at the ceremony hosted by NSW Minister for Sport , the Hon . Steve Kamper MP .
She was honoured for her outstanding success and contribution to lawn bowls over the past year .
Dilys has been a staunch advocate of organisational development within Bowls NSW , and her tenure as Bowls NSW President has been marked by a profound reshaping of the governance structures within the organisation and delivering large scale changes across all levels of bowls administration .
Under her guidance , Bowls NSW has undergone a complete governance restructure , stripping back the administrative processes within the sport and streamlining 56 separate male zone and female district entities into 16 unified organisations .
Dilys has also been a tireless supporter for the modernisation of lawn bowls , recognising the importance of broadening the sports ’ appeal to wider and more diverse audiences , and by championing initiatives aimed at attracting broader demographics , she

Sport NSW Chairperson , Chris Hall congratulated Dilys on winning her Award and paid tribute to all finalists .
“ The NSW Community Sports Awards are the highest honours for community and grassroots sport in the state . It is fitting these Award recipients and finalists are recognised and honoured ,” said Mr Hall .
“ We applaud volunteers like Dilys for her countless hours of unwavering work at the coalface of sport . It is because of her loyal and dedicated service that thousands of men and women , boys and girls enjoy the health , social and community benefits sport provides .
