Evolving yet preserving
As a provider of a unique educational offering in the local area , Norwest Christian College is experiencing strong growth in student enrolments . With enrolment waitlists across a number of cohorts for this year and next , the college begins this year with an additional 150 students ( across Kindergarten – Year 12 ).
When families ask about a position for their child , they are asked the question , “ Why do you want to partner with Norwest Christian College ?”
Whilst the responses are varied , the majority of comments speak to the values and ethos of the college , their admiration for the vision and mission of the college , and their desire for their child to be taught holistically .
Norwest views partnership as an essential component of growing whole young people who have a strong conviction of who God has created them to be . Parents are encouraged to be actively involved in all aspects of college life , and this involvement is one component of the unique culture found at Norwest .
As it continues to grow , Norwest is ensuring that its culture is preserved , considering it is so highly valued within its community . In the college ’ s 2021 Parent Survey , parents reflected on what they love about Norwest . The resounding feedback was the sense of community .
Norwest isn ’ t solely an educational institution , but it is a community of diverse people where each person feels a deep sense of belonging . It is a community that all students , staff , and families take pride in . It is a community that encourages , supports , and inspires each person in order to live lives of purpose .
With all of the growth it is experiencing , it is essential for the college facilities to grow and adapt . In a few short weeks , the new learning precinct will be open and available for the secondary students .
It will be home to eight classrooms , located around open learning spaces , as well as three new science labs and STEM facilities .
The opening of this new building is one step closer to securing the college as a leading educational establishment in the northwest Sydney region .
