Hills Relay for Life Gala with Mark Hodges MP

On Saturday 13 April the Hills Relay for Life committee hosted the 2024 annual fundraiser Hills Relay for Life Gala . The theme of the Gala was a Masquerade , and many of the community came to support the Hills Relay for Life . The night featured dinner , dancing , entertainment , as well as an auction to raise funds in the fight against cancer .
The Hills Relay for Life is a welcome addition to the annual calendar of The
Hills residents . People of all ages come out to support the cause , to walk for awareness , and to raise vital funds for Cancer Council ’ s research , prevention , and support services .
It is a wonderful 24-hour event which has been running in The Hills since 2001 thanks to its dedicated committee members and the generosity and support of the community .
Thank you to Lisa Carruthers , Chairperson of the committee , and to all committee members who continue to make the Hills Relay for Life possible each year , and who provide this opportunity for the community to support the fight against cancer . The Gala was a wonderful example of the passion and dedication of the committee team , and an indication of what is to come in May .
The 2024 Hills Relay for Life will be held 18-19 May at the Castle Hill Showground . My team will be walking , and I hope to see as many of you as possible at the Castle Hill Showground . Scan the QR code to donate or for more information .

Local Woman of the Year : Kylie Tzavaras

Congratulations to Kylie Tzavaras , our 2024 Local Woman of the Year ! Since the age of seven , Kylie has dedicated her life to netball . Since 1995 she has been involved in coaching , managing , umpiring , and filling administrative and committee roles at the Baulkham Hills Shire Netball Association .
In 2015 she was presented with the Association ’ s Service Award , and in 2019 the Association granted her Life Membership . Kylie was also Awarded the Dot McHugh OAM Administrator of the year form Netball NSW in 2020 , and was a runner up in the NSW Government Her Sport Her Way Awards - Local Champion 2020 / 2021 .
Kylie has been an inspiration to hundreds of players , coaches and umpires through the Association , and through her leadership the Association has become one of the biggest and most respected in NSW . Well Done Kylie ! An award truly deserved . 50 years lions service award Congratulations to Geoff Cossart of Kellyville Lions Club who has been presented with the 50 Years Lions Service Club Award . Geoff has received many major awards over the 50 years including three Melvin Jones Awards , the International President ’ s Awards in 2010 , Club Lion of the Year , a Baulkham Hills Shire Council Service Award and the 100 % District Governors Award . Thank you Geoff for a remarkable half-century of service to
the Hills Shire community . Hills Relay for Life The Hills Relay for Life Gala Ball was held recently at the Castle Hill RSL Club and was , as always , a great success . This is one of the major fundraising events hosted by the Hills Relay For Life Committee , as it leads up to the actual overnight relay on the track at the Castle Hill Showground on 18-19 May 2024 .
