CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 12.10pm on July 18 and utilised a large cul de sac as a make shift helipad to allow CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic quickly reach the patient. NSW Ambulance paramedics provided initial treatment for the man, who had sustained facial, chest and upper torso burns. CareFlight’s clinical team continued providing care as the man was taken by road in a stable condition with NSW Ambulance to Royal North Shore Hospital.
