HILLCREST SECONDARY SCHOOL Final HILLCREST MAG 2017 | Page 77

TENNIS At the beginning of the season, the Hillcrest tennis team played their first match against Rosslyn A and beat them 4-1. A week later, two doubles pairs consisting of Dilan and Karan along with Rishabh and Shiv, participated in the Rosslyn Doubles tournament. Here, Hillcrest came away with Rishabh and Shiv in 3rd place, and Karan and Dilan emerging as the runners up. Our next league match was against ISK B where we won 4-1 at home. Following this, we played Peponi and managed to defeat them 3-2. Our last match of the group stages was against ISK A. After a hard fought battle, we lost this match 3-2. However, we qualified to the semi-finals vs Peponi. Once again, we played a very good match and emerged victorious with a match score of 4-1. Our final was against our rivals, ISK A. We all played to the best of our abilities in this match but unfortunately we were unable to win the match and subsequently lost 3-2 leaving Hillcrest as the runners up of the league. I would like to thank Ms Dorcie for supporting us throughout the season and to congratulate all of the players on an excellent season. I wish you all the best for next year. By Rishabh Sevak Tennis Captain SHOWJUMPING Hillcrest held the annual show jumping competition that consisted of a range of competitors from different schools. This year’s show was one of my best experiences in Hillcrest. It was exciting, professional, colourful and in general, just amazing to be a part of. I was in a team with Callum, Coral and Abigael and we came fourth overall in the regional showjumping class. Participating with our team was definitely worth www.hillcrest.ac.ke all the effort and preparation we had done before. Thank you everyone for making this day very special. I had so much fun!
