amazing balls of energy.
U17 Girls
These girls became infamous for their ability to rock up for a match without attending any training sessions and still pulling off a comfortable win. In the preliminary stages, the team played five matches and won all of them by a comfortable margin. They then went into the finals against Rusinga School. Unfortunately, this was not going to be an easy achievement as Rusinga School came back with all the arsenal from their holsters, firing them left right and centre. With an early goal, Rusinga were able to keep us at bay despite all our attempts which were numerous. There was such concerted and laudable effort from the Captains Anushka Madan-Handa, Noa Ohana and Ivy Gitonga. They were an indefatigable trio and held their own against Rusinga School. Suraya Charters, Joanna Dyer, Megan Taljaard, Acacia Mathews, Vie Bierens, Kaitlyn Harris and Amani Gardner were there to ensure that none of the opponents passed through our defence or had any contact with our hardworking goalkeeper Lyanca Ellis. The defenders largely achieved the objective of the day and were just unfortunate to concede the solitary goal that sealed their fate, their second of the season as well. Ivy Gitonga and Noa Ohana worked tirelessly like a well-oiled machine in the midfield. The forward line
made up of Diana Vargas, Nicole Terblans, who was also the teams’ top scorer with 8 goals and our never tiring Anushka Madan-Handa who was always handy to act like a centre forward and a link between the forward line and the midfield was unrelenting. Well done girls!
