TURI CROSS COUNTRY
I would like to thank all the athletes who participated in this year’s St.
Andrew’s School-Turi inter-school championship. The team showed a lot of
resilience despite the earlier threat of a rubella outbreak at Turi. This issue
was cleared by health professionals and we were lucky to get the green light
of participation in good time. This year, Hillcrest U19 teams came second
overall with Coral Hays (who is the current record holder) finishing second
and Michael Wachira finishing 4th. The boys’ team was also dealt a major
blow when Ledama Masidza could not finish his race because of persistent
knee pains. I would like to mention that all the participants put in a lot of
effort and I would like to encourage them to work even harder in future to
better their performances.
