Existing Pedestrian Demand Pedestrian demand can best be understood by knowing each person is a pedestrian at some point during their day . This can involve a walk through a parking lot or walk to a bus stop . The following table estimates daily pedestrian activity in Arlington . Potentially over 244,000 walking trips occur each day with noncommuting trips making up the majority of existing pedestrian demand .
