-South West France-
S outh West France is synonymous with great food and wine, encom-
passing such classic produce as Bordeaux wine, fois gras and truffles.
Our walking holidays in the region cover the Dordogne and Lot Valley,
the Tarn and Aveyron, and Bordeaux.
Our Delights of Historic Dordogne holiday follows the Dordogne valley
which is lined with historic villages and chateaux. Our Easy walk passes
through one picturesque village after another, including La Roque
Gageac, built into sandstone cliffs along with a troglodyte fort, and
Sarlat, which is famous for its medieval architecture and lively street
market. Further north, in a less well-known part of Dordogne is our
Villages of Correze walk which passes through pretty countryside and
the historic villages of Turenne, Collonges-la-Rouge and Curemont.
South of Dordogne are the Lot and Cele Valleys which are the locations
of our Serene Lot Valley trail. The walk follows quiet paths between
Figeac and Cahors through unspoilt countryside with wonderful
chateaux and historic villages.
The Bordeaux wine region is one of the most famous in the world. Our
Bordeaux Wine Trail walking holiday traverses some of the most famous
vineyards. Discover a rolling countryside steeped in history, from its
2000 year old vines planted by the Romans, to its wine chateaux and
historic villages. Your walking trail starts by exploring the famous St Emil-
ion vineyards home to some of the most sought after Bordeaux wines
Further south, about 1 hour from Toulouse lies the Tarn where we have
two walking holidays. Our Tarn’s Medieval Bastides holiday explores a
number of wonderful hill top villages, known as bastides, many classed
as among the prettiest villages in France. As well as exploring beautiful
villages such as Puycelsi, Penne, Castlenau, Bruniquel and Cordes-sur-
Ciel you'll discover a picturesque landscape of rolling fields and vine-
yards with expansive views. Historic Villages & Valleys of the Tarn is a
centre-based break which allows you to discover a wider area including
the Aveyron, with walks accessed by private car.

-North East France-
N orth East France harbours two distinct regions lying to the north of the
Alps: Jura & Alsace. Both regions have lots of character with unique land-
scapes, architecture and wines.
Our self-guided Jura Wine Trail is a linear walk which follows the vines
south, allowing you to discover not only the unique Jura wines, which
include the famous Vin de Paille and Vin Jaune, among the most prized
wines in France, but also wonderful historic villages such as Baumes-les-
Messieurs and Chateau Chalon. These villages are situated on hills which
are home to a series of dramatic valleys and gorges which harbour stun-
ning waterfalls & dramatic cliffs.
Our Alsace Vineyards and Mountains holiday explores the famous Alsace
vineyards and the Vosges hills. As well as their vintage wines, the area
features some remarkable chateaux and pretty unspoilt villages, such as
Eguisheim and Kaysersberg, their cobbled alleyways lined with typical
timber-framed Alsace houses. The Vosges offers panoramic views over
their rounded summits.
