T his picturesque region is dominated by the magnificent

Dordogne valley lined with historic delights. Our easy self-guided walking holiday passes through one picturesque village after another. There’ s La-Roque-Gageac which has been built into steep sandstone cliffs which rise high above the river; the beautiful town of Sarlat, famous for its medieval architecture and its lively street market; and the gorgeous hilltop bastide town of Domme, unchanged for centuries. The Dordogne valley also has an impressive array of châteaux such as Fénelon, Beynac, Castelnaud, Marqueyssac, as well as important pre-historic sites. Our moderate graded holiday in Correze explores a less frequented part of Dordogne. Your walk starts near the local centre of Brive-la-Gaillarde and heads south towards Beaulieu sur Dordogne, passing through the historic villages of Turenne, Collonges-la-Rouge and Curement, all of which are classed as some of the prettiest villages in France.
A mixture of charming small bed & breakfasts full of local character and small independent family run hotels offering high quality of service. Many are in historic properties, set in wonderful medieval village locations, some have swimming pools. Warm welcome and gastronomic food. Example: Jeanne Maison d’ hôte is a small bed and breakfast in a historic property in the heart of Collonges-la-Rouge.
