Rendition uses puppetry, soundscapes, object, shadow and visual theatre to explore the collusion between the CIA and the British Government; the juxtaposition between extreme vulnerability and absolute power; and the story of the first suspect to be taken into the CIA detention programme. Our work has toured in Scotland, China, Germany and Cyprus. At the Hidden Door Festival 2017, we are presenting our new performance ‘Love’ based on William Shakespeare’s ‘Sonnets’. Through the incorporation of digital technologies like mapping projections and live video snippets along with the use of puppetry, objects and an accompanying DJ set, we will present an audio-visual adaptation of Shakespeare’s poetry for the stage.
