Anna Meredith
Idlewild
Edinburgh’s very own Idlewild are
headlining at the Main Auditorium Saturday
night. Formed in 1995, these indie rockers
are no strangers to the music scene, and
with seven albums under their belt, they
are indeed legends in their own right.
Dubbed ‘one of the most innovative
minds in modern British music’ by
Pitchfork, Scottish Album of the Year
award winner Anna Meredith is our
headliner for Friday Night.
Since releasing her debut album
Varmints in 2016, she has fast
become a force to be reckoned
with, with her genre-defying
brand of haunting compositions.
Alongside her band of highly
skilled musicians, she will show
you just why the media and music
lovers alike are so in awe of her.
Rumour also has it this could be their only
UK live performance this year.
Aurora Engine
Aurora Engine is a harpist, pianist, singer songwriter
and electronic composer. Live performances bring
harps, loops, effect pedals, vocals and synths, woven
together to create ethereal sounds. Lyrics can be
heartfelt or comic, music can be multi-layered or
simply a voice and a harp. She loves the north, steam
trains and the stars.
BDY_PRTS
To kick it all off, we present to you
the enigmatic power duo BDY_PRTS. If
Peaches and Melissa Auf der Maur had a
love child, it would sound a lot like this.
Expect atmospheric poppy tunes, strong
female vocals and heart-on-your-sleeve
lyrics.
The vocalists’ voices fit together
perfectly, whilst still maintaining a clear
contrast. This is not your standard pop
collaboration. This is one of the few
dates they’ve confirmed this year, so
don’t miss out.
MANUELA
flint and pitch
present
A marriage of both souls and
musical talents, Manuela has
been making sweet music
since the late 90s.
Dominic Waxing Lyrical, Bella and the Bear
and the New International
The duo consists of
Manuela and Nick, the
latter which you’ll no
doubt know from Franz
Ferdinand. Their funky,
quirky vibes will make you
reach for your dancing shoes.
Dama Scout
Hamish Hawk & The New Outfit
Edinburgh-based Hamish released his second
album, From Zero to One, last year, and
his music has been compared to the
likes of industry greats such as The
Smiths, Siouxsie & The Banshees
and The Strokes.
Let yourself be mesmerised by
the singer’s unique voice and the
band’s delightful musical backdrop.

Faith Eliott
“Faith Eliott is a visual artist and alt-folk
musician from Minneapolis MN, now based in
Leith. She writes songs about loomy, scrambling
creatures, giant sea sponges, soviet space dogs
and death.”
Glasgow/London trio Dama Scout
lures you into a musical sound-scape
creating before you the image of a
glorious summer day. The dreamy
vocals lull you back and forth like
the waves of the sea, whilst the
music is a force reminiscent of the
darker powers hidden underneath the
ocean’s surface.
The band exploded onto the music
scene in 2016, and we can all count
ourselves lucky to see them work
their magic onstage in the Main Auditorium as
the opening act on Saturday evening.
