Jack King-Spooner is an artist who makes video games. His games span from the most objectionable to the tenderest of sentiments and always seek to express ideas that cannot be expressed in unvarnished prose.

pianocube The Pianocube is a playable sculpture made from three upcycled upright pianos. A sonic playground. You can pluck it, tap it, stroke it, tickle it and bash it in any way that your imagination suggests. You can even climb inside it. A multiplayer for all ages.
room to play
Room to Play is a multi-disciplinary, hands-on, residency programme for emerging musicians, artists & game developers, exploring interactive live and digital processes in music, art, performance and game-development. In 2016 a team of 13 emerging musicians, visual artists, game developers and other professions came together for 10 weeks to work with award-winning musician, sound-designer, game developer and sonic artist, Yann Seznec( British Composer Award for Sonic Art, 2015), as well as Edinburgh’ s Tinderbox Orchestra, to develop a series of interactive musical and orchestral performances and installations. These were exhibited and showcased at Hidden Door Festival 2016, Edinburgh Game Symposium at DARE ProtoPlay 2016, and at North Edinburgh Arts. Room to Play 2016 was supported by Creative Scotland.

UNFORESEEN returns to Hidden Door for its second series of multi-discipline, audience-interactive situations facing the as yet unknown. Bringing new work influenced by output from the 2015 series, independent arts organisations in aerial dance, music and digital visuals respond to audience feedback through improvisation live, leading collective participation in an everevolving new work.

Civic Soup is an architecture collective, meaningfully engaging with people and communities on the topic of their built environment through collaborative thinking, designing and making. Our participatory workshop will provoke discussion around the future of Leith Theatre in the context of its rich heritage and the urban development surrounding it.

Explore the festival and journey the UK with the‘ Indefinite Article’ audio tour. In the weeks after Article 50 was triggered, we travelled the UK, speaking to everyone we met about home, Brexit and the future. Pick up a map and some headphones and listen in to some of those conversations.
