Tidal Peak
Utilising primarily guitar, synthesisers and a drum
machine, Tidal Peak is a musical project aiming
to create something unique and noteworthy in
Toowoomba’s music scene.
Formed in February this year by USQ Bachelor of
Education student, Kyle Lacko, the project combines
elements of synthpop, new wave and dream pop.
With an abundance of musical ideas compiled during
his time over the years playing with other local
musicians it was not long until Kyle began work on
Tidal Peak’s debut single and the groundwork of an
EP to be released in the not so distant future.
The debut single ‘Quarter of the Century’ has been
recorded at Studio 11 in Highfields and is slated for a
release as early as late June. While fo r the time being
Kyle handles every instrument in both the studio
and live, he plans to form a live line-up for the band.
However, in the meantime listeners will be able to
hear Kyle perform solo for a good cause at ‘Hands for
the Homeless’ at Bon Amici Café on the 8th of August
alongside other local bands such as Through the
Looking Glass, Average Art Club, Stephen Denham
& The Superfriends, The Astronaut Headdress and
Project 62.
Coming soon, keep an eye out for Tidal Peak’s debut
single ‘Quarter of the Century’ on SoundCloud,
Bandcamp and Triple J Unearthed.
