dropping their children off at the start of the day or

Fun in the sun at
Heritage High!
Our September 2013 Year 7 students
were all invited to attend our Summer
Activity Week this year which took
place between 29th July and 2nd
August. Around 100 students were
able to take part in a week packed with
fun activities and entertainment. The
week also allowed them to get to know
one another and some members of
staff, and they were also able to
familiarise themselves with the school
layout - which was a great help on 5th
September!
The days kicked off with breakfast provided by
DCC catering staff, then were jammed packed
with a full programme of activities including arts
and crafts, cookery, space projects, sports and
games, a treasure hunt around the school,
comedy workshop, street dance with Barlborough
Bears and fast and furious action with Extreme
Wheels.
Lunchtimes were take-away style;
children were each given their own packed lunch
of a sandwich - which they had pre-ordered
themselves that morning - crisps, drink and
cookie. Filming took part throughout the week by
a film crew of children lead by Creative Forums
and the very professional results are available on
the school website:

Mrs Smith, Teacher of
Food Technology
Yet again staff at Heritage
excelled themselves at
the
MacMillan
coffee
morning on Friday, 27th
September. Cakes were
baked, staff spent long hours decorating them and
our own in-house auctioneer Mr Emment managed
to persuade staff to part with their money. A fun
time was had by all and £220 was raised.
The week was a great success, thoroughly
enjoyed by all who took part. It was rounded off
with a ceremony to present prizes and certificates.
Many thanks to all who took part in the week and the staff who supported during the week and
in the lead up to the event.
A Rewarding Day Out!
