As in previous years families and individuals are able to walk, jog or run either 1, 3 or 6 miles, raising valuable funds for Sport Relief. Throughout the day there will also be outdoor family activities taking place including giant board games situated near the stable yard. Children will also be able to tick off as many of the 50 things to do before your 11 3/4's activities as they can, including den building and mud pie making. Pick up a ‘50 things’ map from the visitor reception building. And, if that's not enough, tasty food and drink will also be available from the stable yard restaurant, as well as gifts, local food and plants in the stable yard shop. Families and individuals can sign up by going to: www.bolsover.gov.uk/sport-relief-mile On Friday, 13th December a group of 27 students set off for the slopes of Bormio, Italy with Mr Cronin, Mr Groves and Miss Jenkins. For some students this visit was their third time skiing in Bormio and for others it was their first. The beginner students started quite apprehensively, but I was extremely impressed by the courage shown as they conquered their fears and ended the visit being confident skiers. The intermediate and advanced skiers ended the week doing tricks which was a testament to how much they have achieved from their visits to Bormio. Even the weather was so fabulous that regular applications of sun cream took place on a daily basis. And the views were spectacular! All in all, it was a great visit and the students were an absolute pleasure to be with. Miss Jenkins, Guidance Manager
