In terms of on the field skill. McSheffery believes the team is veteran heavy with many key skill position players returning to the fold.
The first of those players is the main field general, quarterback Aidan Brown. Brown was named preseason offensive MVP for the district in“ Dave Campbell’ s Texas Football” summer 2026 edition.
Brown had a breakout season last year both through the air and on the ground as the team’ s leading rusher and passer. Brown threw for 2,325 yards and 31 touchdowns in 2025 with a passer rating of 118.2
The quarterback also rushed for 1,598 yards and 16 touchdowns to add to his regular season totals.
On the defensive side of the ball, McSheffery highlighted skill position players as well such as Jeremy Brockway in the linebacking core and Brandon Anderson Jr. in the secondary.
Anderson Jr. was the team’ s leader in interceptions last season with five and totaled 108 return yards.
The main question marks that McSheffery has for the roster coming into the season are the offensive and defensive line units. However, on both sides of the ball, McSheffery said the good news for those units is that everyone playing for them has varsity experience, the only thing that will be changing is their workload.
Next to Brown in the backfield will be returning running back Ky’ Mani Graham who formed a dynamic duo with Brown as a rushing tandem in 2025.
Graham rushed for 1,209 yards and 15 touchdowns and will be looking to follow that up in his senior campaign.
The Tigers top returning receiving threat for this season is Donovan Maria. In his junior season, Maria was the second leading receiver on the team with 632 yards on 44 receptions and six touchdowns. McSheffery is looking for Maria to take a leap in his game this season after the team lost top receiver Malik Garcia.
