That ' s something the Greenville Lions can ' t say about their 2025 football schedule until nearly the halfway point of the season. Counting their preseason scrimmage, the Lions are to play their first five games of the 2025 season on the road. They are to play six road games during the regular season and four home games.
" That’ s just the way it works,” Greenville coach David Collins said of the Lions’ schedule. " We get to play at the
Ford Center."
Their first home game at T. A. " Cotton " Ford Stadium isn ' t scheduled until Sept. 26, when the Lions are to play Mesquite Poteet for homecoming.
They are to open on Aug. 29 against Frisco Heritage at the Ford Center at the Star in Frisco, the practice home of the Dallas Cowboys and also a site for Frisco ISD home games.
They ' ll next play I-30 rival Sulphur Springs on Sept. 5 at Gerald Prim Stadium in Sulphur Springs.
Next they ' ll face Joshua on Sept. 12 at a neutral site: R. L. Anderson Stadium in Mansfield.
The next road trip for the Lions is against defending defending champion Midlothian Heritage in the District 6-5A-II opener on Sept. 19 at the MISD Multi-Purpose Stadium and Don Floyd Field in Midlothian. Heritage, which went 7-0 in district play last season, was ranked No. 17 in Class 5A-II by Dave Campbell ' s
