FACING TOUGH CHALLENGE

The Boles Hornets started off 3-1 last season in non-district play but were hit hard by injuries and also ran into very tough competition in District 9-2A-I to finish at 4-6 overall.
The 2025 Hornets will be facing another strong challenge in 9-2A from 12-2 Honey Grove, 7-5 Cooper, 8-3 Rivercrest, 5-6 Paul Pewitt and 5-5 Alba-Golden along with Como-Pickton.
“ Our district looks to be tough once again,” said Jawny Cannon, who returns as the Hornets’ head football coach.“ Honey Grove lost a lot, but still has a good core with one of the top athletes in the state returning. Cooper runs like a machine, but it will be interesting to see how this young crew coming up emerges. Pewitt has retained the most talent from last year and I would say is a strong contender for the championship. Como is getting better every year. Alba is always salty. Rivercrest and us have lost the most from last year’ s squad.” But the Hornets aren’ t backing down.
“ I believe it will be an exciting season.” said Cannon.“ The boys have been pushing themselves and are hungry for redemption.”
The Hornets will have three experienced veterans at the skill positions with quarterback Grayson Drennan, plus wide receivers Elijah Granado and Jeremiah King. Drennan, who missed
