New iPSCs as a treatment for Parkinson Our own cells might be used as treatment for Parkinson’s disease Induced pluripotent stem cells {iPSCs} which taken from patient can be of great important in treating many diseases especially Parkinson’s disease. iPSCs are genetically reprogrammed cells to embryonic stem cell like which means these cells can be differentiated into any of the body’s various cell types. Studies on Rodents shows that iPSCs are destroyed by body’s immune response but studies on monkeys disprove the results on rodents and iPSCs developed into neurons depleted by Parkinson’s disease and produced only very little or negligible immune response. This makes the possibility for a successful autologous transplantation in humans. This transplantation made possible with minimal use of immunosuppressive drugs. But Allogenic transplantation produces vast and great amount of immune response. Still the studies goes on for other than neuronal cell growth and to makes this great finding in all type of cell growth.
